they are the opening sequences at the start of the footage there are plenty of famous idents, for example BBC with there trademark logo of the world and there famous BBC font which is known all around the world and extremely popular in the TV world. here are some more idents you may recognize.
Sky Sports again have used the same style of ident through out the years of there experience and have made it more modern and up to date each three years or so and always have additional idents in times of celebration such as Christmas and Easter.
Channel 4 is a UK public-service television broadcaster, which launched 2 November 1982. Channel 4 was built to provide a fourth television service to the UK, to break Licence Fee’s funded by the BBC. Recently Channel 4 launched a 3D week, showing programmes each night. However complaints were made when viewers could not watch selected programmes in 3D or the quality of the programme had no effect.
Other famous ones which are recognized worldwide is the famous BBC Ident which has changed through out the years drastically but has kept the same basis with the globe and the famous large font in bold.

1992This was made in 1992 look at the changes since this time now to the one made in 2009.
2009there is a big difference image wise but they have kept there well known BBC in bold and in little black squares as this is there trademark identity.
